Royal Commission of Inquiry

The Government had extended the period from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 after the COI had requested for an extension to its reporting deadline.

In a statement, the COI said the government has granted its request and will now commence the public hearing on Thursday 2^nd December 2021.

The final report of the inquiry was supposed to go before Parliament during the October session.

In its sitting on December 16^th, Commissioners Chief Sir Salamo Injia and John Gilmour QC made six announcements, and included among them was an interim list of witnesses.

The interim witness list appears in four parts, reflecting on the four parts under which the Term of Reference of the inquiry appears.

The CoI first mention was on September 2^nd, where it was announced that further administrative arrangements to secure the resources required including technical experts for the enquiry to continue and be completed by September 17^th.

Today Chairman of the UBS CoI and former Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia informed the public they are unable to sit today because only a portion of those administrative measures have been addressed.
