Ronaldo

Ronaldo & Georgina Rodriguez's one-year relationship

This couple reportedly met at a Dolce and Gabbana event in Madrid. The two started low-key dating until the press spotted the soccer stud at Disneyland Paris with the Spanish beauty in November 2016.

Rodriguez had studied dance and English in London and was reportedly working as a Gucci sales associate before meeting the Real Madrid superstar.

Suddenly, the two were inseparable, and Ronaldo was taking his girlfriend everywhere with him.

But little did the public know that there were two incredible surprises on their way.

Ronaldo wins fifth Ballon d'Or

The 32-year-old was named France Football's player of the year for the fourth time in five years after a brilliant 2016-17 in which he won LaLiga and the Champions League with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo also became the all-time leading scorer in Europe's top five leagues when he reached 366 goals in May to overtake Jimmy Greaves.

His two goals in Madrid's Champions League final victory over Juventus also took the Portugal star past 600 career goals, while Messi only reached the 500 mark for Barcelona six weeks earlier.

Ronaldo overtakes Messi in Champions League goal scoring race

The Portugal star netted twice in Real Madrid's 6-0 thrashing of APOEL on Tuesday to move onto 98 in the famous white shirt.

He is one above Messi in this particular scoring stat, with the Barcelona man sitting on 97 ahead of his side's clash with Juventus on Wednesday.

Ronaldo also broke his own record for Champions League goals in a calendar year, moving onto 18 for 2017 with his double in Cyprus to surpass his previous best of 15 two years ago.

Ronaldo wants 7 Ballon d'Or

The Real Madrid star is the favourite to win France Football's prize this year, having fired his side to LaLiga and Champions League glory in 2016-17.

The 32-year-old, who won the trophy last year, is bidding to match long-time rival Lionel Messi on five awards, having already claimed the Best FIFA Men's Player prize for the second year in a row.

But Ronaldo, whose girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez this week gave birth to his fourth child, Alana Martina, is far from finished when it comes to building his legacy on and off the pitch.

Ronaldo's fourth child is born

Ronaldo's new arrival is his first child with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

The Portugal captain reported that both baby and mother were "doing great" in a post on Instagram that showed Ronaldo and eldest son Cristiano Jr posing alongside Rodriguez.

Ronaldo's household is set to be hectic with baby twins Eva Maria and Mateo, born of a surrogate mother, also in their infancy.

Neymar happy to be alongside Ronaldo, Messi

Ronaldo claimed the prize ahead of Messi for the second straight year, with Neymar third – a spot Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann took in 2016.

Neymar, 25, was delighted to be considered in the same group as Real Madrid's Ronaldo and Barcelona star Messi, widely labelled two players who will go down as all-time greats.

"Congratulations to Cristiano. He deserves it and he has merit to win it," the Brazil international said.

"He is making history and that has to be respected. Both he and Messi are two figures in world football.

Ronaldo wins FIFA crown

The Real Madrid forward was crowned player of the year on Monday at the Fifa Best ceremony at the London Palladium theatre attended by runner-up Messi and third-placed Neymar.

A second successive honour for Ronaldo was expected after a season in which the Portuguese eclipsed his award counterparts in the trophy stakes.

Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar up for top award

Ronaldo helped Real Madrid to a second consecutive Champions League title and finished as the tournament's top scorer with 12 goals earlier this year.

Messi and Neymar claimed the Spanish King's Cup with Barcelona with the former finishing as La Liga's top scorer with 37 goals last season.

Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon was shortlisted for the Best FIFA Goalkeeper award after leading the Italian club to a sixth successive Serie A title, a third-straight Italian Cup success and a runner-up finish in the Champions League.

Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo has appeal rejected

Ronaldo was handed the sanction after being sent off and then shoving the referee in Real Madrid's 3-1 Supercopa de Espana first-leg victory over Barcelona on Sunday.

The Portugal star played out a dramatic cameo at Camp Nou, coming off the bench to score a stunner before getting booked for removing his shirt in celebration.

He took a tumble in the box just two minutes later and earned a second yellow card for an apparent dive, but Ronaldo allowed his anger to get the better of him as he then pushed referee Ricardo de Burgos.

Buffon, Messi, Ronaldo up for prize

The prize, formerly called the Best Player in Europe Award, was won by Real Madrid star Ronaldo last year and has twice been given to Barcelona forward Messi.

Andres Iniesta and Franck Ribery are the only other players to have lifted the trophy.

The prize recognises the best players, regardless of nationality, playing for clubs in UEFA territories and is judged on their performances in domestic, continental and international competition.
