Roadshow

This follows the recent launch at Waigani Central in Port Moresby.

The Digicel Foundation team set up an information booth along with their partners, where residents gathered to find out more about the Men of Honour campaign as well as the role of their partner organisations.

Head of programs for Digicel Foundation, Valda Kereu, outlined that nominations for outstanding men who do extraordinary work in the communities opened in November and will close on February 3^rd, 2023.

The first roadshows, held during March, connected key conservation stakeholders in West New Britain, Madang and in the country’s Highlands region.

The roadshows aim to provide updates on the status of protected areas legislation, management tools, detailed analyses on biodiversity financing solutions and outreach towards the 2022 Protected Area Forum – to be held in Port Moresby in June.

Upcoming roadshow events are also scheduled in the Highlands region and Port Moresby during April 2022.

The roadshow is held prior to the 2018 ITB Berlin tradeshow, the largest travel trade show in Europe.

‘Meet the Pacific’ is a one-day business-to-business meeting through pre-scheduled appointments in six European and two Asian countries bringing together resort partners, tourism board and airline partners (sellers) from the South Pacific to meet key European, UK and Asian tour operators (buyers) who are committed to promoting and selling the South Pacific destinations.
