Netball Semi-Finals dusted

The top four teams battled it out to secure the top 2 spots for the Grand Final. There was a number of super close games across the divisions.

Next weekend games will hold final dry-runs. A meeting will be held after this weekend’s games with representatives of teams who are in the grand final.

On February 19th, the competition will have the Top 4 Playoff  with two minor finals, and 25th February the Top 2 go head to head in the grand finale.

TAIC opened to start taking patients

Yesterday, an agreement was signed between the St John Ambulance, the NCD Provincial Health Authority, the Port Moresby General Hospital, and the Health Department, to seal this joint effort in the monitoring and recovery process of COVID-19 positive patients.

The TAIC will relieve the Port Moresby General Hospital and the Rita Flynn Isolation facility, of patients who are recovering from COVID-19.

NCD counting training off to slow start

Although the scheduled start time was 9am, officials were called in at around 10:20am.

Officials stood in line while Electoral Commission officers called them in, one by one, for the NCD regional count.

Also at the venue will be counting for Moresby North-West.

While officials were let in, a few among the group began calling out for allowances.

Officials from other counting venues have threatened to boycott counting until allowances are paid.

Rita Flynn netball complex opened

The complex includes a VIP room, gym, office, shower blocks and 11 netball courts. The complex can hold up to 3000 people.

There to open the complex was Prime Minister Peter O’Neill who said the new complex will leave a lasting legacy and will help netball in the country to excel.

He wished the Pepes good luck in the Pacific Games and urged them to do their best .

Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko said he was in talks with the Games Organising Committee (GOC) to have the netball finals for the Pacific Games played at Rita Flynn.
