Gurias rumble with 34-12 win over Isapea in Lae

The Gurias registered first points from a penalty in the opening minutes from boot of Elipas Pidik.

Pidik made it 4-0 not long after Isapea gave away another  penalty right in front of the posts.

But it was the Gulf boys who crossed the tryline first when five-eighth Solomon Pokari Kale  slipped a  no-look pass to Jack Manda who ran in to score.

Japheth Olik put his side in front after converting the try.

But the Gurias hit back straight after with quick hands that created an overlap for Pidik to score out wide.

Isapea snap 24-18 win

Yesterday afternoon, Waghi Tumbe took a 12-10 lead at the break but let the game slip away from them to give the home side a win in front of over 300 spectators.

Lock Sipa Korken extended the lead for Waghi Tumbe just 7 minutes into the second half when he bulldozed his way over the try line.

Jodda Wesley was good with the boot, converting the try to make it 3 from 3 for the afternoon.

But the Gulf boys dominated the remainder of the game with three tries to come out victors.
