Schools in PRIDE program to perform plays

The plays will aim at imparting social messages to be staged on September 1 and 2 for the Moresby Arts Theatre’s (MAT) PRIDE Youth Arts Program.

PRIDE brings together year-nine students from 12 secondary schools and drama teachers to develop short plays about important community issues relevant to their lives.

Over 500 students undergo PRIDE Youth Arts Program

PRIDE is a program for schools in Port Moresby that aims to influence education, confidence-building, and the development of expressive abilities in young people.

The students had the opportunity to learn about healthy lifestyles with Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) who were invited to speak to the students.

PNGCF health educator Jacob Oburi conducted an energetic and informative workshop on PNGCF’s ‘Healthy Teens School Program’ (HTSP).

​Moresby students participate in health program

The students were from Kopkop College, Limana Vocational Centre and Paradise High School.

The health awareness was carried out at the Moresby Arts Theatre (MAT) during its ‘PRIDE Youth Arts Program'.

PRIDE is a week-long program for schools in Moresby that aims to influence education, confidence-building and the development of expressive abilities in young people.

The health program focused on empowering teens with information on healthy eating and the benefits of regular exercise.
