Governor Parkop challenges soccer association executives

He had met with them before the men's pre-season grand final between Mungkas FC and Blue Kumul FC.

During the meeting, the Governor shared his observations, development, and improvement plans for the game, stressing the need for strategies specifically in the areas of school development programs, technical development, infrastructure development, media communications strategy, business strategy, and product development strategy. He also highlighted the importance of gender equality and supporting campaigns against gender-based violence.

PMSA kicks off

Competition manager, Paul Karambi, said PMSA has received overwhelming interest for the 2018 season proper with 16 new clubs signing on.

Sadly, 11 clubs from last year’s 39 have not indicated interest this year.

PMSA will feature the Premier League, Division One, Division Two, Division Three and Division Four this season.

All divisions will comprise of eight teams, except Division Four which will have twelve teams.

The Premier League will have senior men, senior women and under 18.

Besta FA Cup finals set for this month

The Southern Region will be represented by Port Moresby Soccer Association and Hoods for the men’s, while the women’s will also be represented by PMSA.

From Momase, it’s Morobe Football Association and Madang for the men’s. MFA will represent the women’s as well.

The New Guinea Islands has Talasea for the men’s and Kimbe Soccer Association for the women’s.

The Highlands leg of the Besta FA Cup is currently underway with the winners to join up with the champions from the other three regions in Lae.

Female athletes pay tribute to late judge Davani

The death of Justice Catherine Davani shook the country. It was obvious by the tributes pouring in that this woman had touched so many lives with her selflessness.

Female soccer players of the Port Moresby Soccer Association told Loop PNG of how this great judge took them under her wings, guided them like a mother hen and was always there when they needed a shoulder to cry on.

Former PNG Under-20 representative (2012), Lydia Kose, shared of how she was having trouble juggling soccer and school work.

​Football champs visits Cheshire home

The 2016 Port Moresby Soccer Association champions Mungkas FC today visited the Cheshire Disability Services and donated food to the 21 residents that live there.

Fifteen of which are female and six are male who are taken care of 24/7.

It was the first visit to Cheshire Disability Services for the entire Team and the boys were pleased to have made the visit.

Referee called off one sided match

Mungkas FC once again proved to be the team to watch out for in the Port Moresby Soccer Association after thrashing Guria 11-0 today at the Bomana soccer grounds.

The young boys outplayed the Guria in stunning football game with their one touch footy, speed and agility.

Forward Basil Jofari once again with his famous upfront runs and quick foot works created a lot of openings sending his strikers in with all scoring more than one goals.

Taking a 5-0 lead in the first half, the boys came back adding six more goals to make it a 11-0 victory.
