Ani warned over repayment

Margaret Ani of Pari village appeared this morning before Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika where she was warned to repay an outstanding K50,600 before March 13.

"It's almost the end of the road for you. The court has been gracious to you and your partner. March 13 is the end of the road for you,"  Sir Gibbs warned her before adjourning her case to next week.

Ani told the court today that she is expecting some payment this week and asked the court for an extension to next Monday.

Court: Repayment of cancer funds must continue

Margaret Ani of Pari village, Port Moresby, returned before Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika today to give an update to the court on her restitution progress.

Ani has so far repaid K13,500 and has an outstanding of K52,664.64 to repay before 1st March, 2017.

Her lawyer told the court today that she has no formal employment and plans to sell her vehicle before Christmas to make further payment. Her husband is also assisting her with the restitution.

Woman still repaying over K66,000 taken from cancer society

Margaret Ani of Pari village, Port Moresby, appeared in court before Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika today and gave an update of her repayment progress.

Her lawyer told the court she has repaid K5,000 so far and is expecting her Nasfund savings to be released by the end of the month.

She has an outstanding K61,000 to repay within the next five months.

“You continue to make your repayment. You honour what you told the court at the time. You still have five months to go and I urge you to make those payments,” Sir Gibbs told Ani and her lawyer.

Court orders Ani repay over K66,000

This was the sentence of the National Court yesterday afternoon against 26 year old Pari woman, Margaret Ani.

Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika in sentencing Ani said the court will be monitoring her repayment within the next 12 months.

Ani is expected back in court on Sept 1 where she will give an update on the repayment of K66,164.64.

"I will give you 12 months outside to make the repayment. Your repayment will be monitored by the court. This is to ensure your offer of restitution is genuine," Sir Gibbs told Ani.
