Kilakila secondary has a population of over 1,000 students.

It is one of the oldest schools in the city which saw some classrooms rehabilitated in the past two years at a cost of K1 million, by the office of the Moresby South MP and NCD Governor.

One of those classrooms, a double-storey building, was razed last Friday afternoon, allegedly by a student who was not happy about being disciplined.

Badili Police Station Commander, Bill Werake, said the student (name withheld) was picked up on Tuesday afternoon while he was in class.

On 16 July 2010, K42,800 was withdrawn from Hangu’s account to purchase a vehicle. The vehicle was registered by Mulungu under his name without the knowledge and authority of Haunu.

The accident occurred along the Waigani Drive at around 4am on July 24^th. The vehicle was recently donated by the Australian Federal Police to assist with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) duties.

“The suspect Constable Neil Vaimo attached to the Boroko Traffic Unit was laid administrative charges for negligent driving under Road Traffic Act (RTA),” officer in-charge of Boroko traffic office, Joseph Salle, said.

Probationary Constable Jonathan Kara, 27, of Kelua 2, Western Highlands Province, was sentenced on July 3 by Justice Nicholas Miviri at the Waigani National Court in Port Moresby.

Kara was found guilty under section 87 (1) and 138 (a) of the PNG Criminal Code respectively. In Feb 2017, Moses Andia, 30, of Tambul Western Highlands Province was arrested and detained at the Gordon police cells for insulting a person.

Eastern Highlands Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent David Siene Jr, said the deceased was among three other male youths who recently attempted to rob an Asian shop in Goroka Town.

Their attempt was foiled by security guards who also alerted police.

PPC Siene said when police pursued the failed robbers, they were shot at.

Police shot back and killed one of them instantly while the others fled.

The electorate received four brand new police vehicles from the APEC Secretariat.

Police personnel from the Badili, Town and Saraga stations were on parade to receive the four vehicles on Wednesday afternoon at Badili.

The vehicles were given by the secretariat, recognising the electorate as the main venue to cater for a majority of the events during the November leaders’ week.
