Governor Peter prioritizes police housing

Central Province Governor, Rufina Peter when delivering her independence message last week, says the Central Provincial Government has allocated funding in this year’s budget to renovate police housing at Tapini and Bereina stations.

She said the Central Provincial Government is looking to embark on a training program for reserve police personnel.

This, the Governor believes will cut down on the cost of maintaining and building housing.

Police Service Allowances to be paid

Manning made the announcement today after receiving confirmation of payment from the Department of Personnel Management.

Nine-hundred-and-ninety-two (992)claims will be processed in the first batch, with the payments set to be made in Pay Number 15, directly into the respective accounts of the police personnel. The compensation is intended to address the underpayment of police service allowances that occurred between 2010 and 2015.

Insurance benefits distributed to Police Personnel

 

The K700,000 represents various recent payouts by the insurer to the insured members of the police force for funeral and life insurance claims.

Over the past two weeks, the payouts have been distributed by the insurer to beneficiaries of police personnel (and or their spouses) depositing directly into their respective accounts in coordination with the police HR Division.

This latest round of payouts brings the total life and funeral benefits distributed directly to the beneficiates of the Life Insurance Policy to almost K2 million over the last 12 months.
