Pokili committees attend roles and responsibilities training

They were trained on the roles of office bearers, leadership traits, planning, report writing, financial accountability and evaluation.

The event was jointly facilitated at Rapuri village on April 19 by Mahonia Na Dari, the local marine conservation NGO, New Britain Palm Oil Ltd and United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) project officers.

Villagers to benefit from NBPOL mangrove nursery program

The villagers have so far been trained by Sustainability in Community Needs Assessments, Land Use Planning, Roles and Responsibilities of Executives, Financial Literacy and will also get training for mangroves and ecosystems' rehabilitation.

A total of 8,600 mangrove seedlings have been paid off and will be planted at selected plantations of NBPOL.
