Post PNG sees importance of Trukai Fun Run

Chief Operations Officer of Post PNG, Ben Davis, said the Trukai Fun Run is a great way of giving back to the community and they are pleased to be a part of it.

Davis thanked the PNG Olympic Committee for providing the opportunity for the corporate sector to be part of Team PNG through the Fun Run, and presented a cheque for K16,000 for Fun Run T-shirts.

The shirts were bought during the Trukai Fun Run auctions in Port Moresby on March 8 this year. Post PNG bought 1,600 shirts to be the second highest bidder for Port Moresby.

PNGOC: Ottio death a sad loss for PNG

In a statement share the same grief and sadness as all other Papua New Guinean sports supporters at the sudden passing of PNG Kumul centre, Kato Ottio.

Ottio is remembered as a very talented individual who excelled in the sporting codes which he participated in. He was one of the few athletes to win Gold medals for Team PNG in two different sports.

Before dawning the Kumul jersey, Ottio was a member of the history-making Men's Volleyball team that claimed Gold in Wallis & Futuna in 2013 during the Pacific Mini Games.

The funding of fifty thousand Kina is made available through the Olympic Solidarity programme.

Shirts for PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge

Sales and marketing manager of The National, Veronica Marshall, presented the shirts to PNG Olympic Committee’s commercial manager, Tania Mahuru.

Team PNG athletes, Moha Mea from beach volleyball, Zoe Awadu from women’s indoor volleyball, Betty Angula from women’s basketball and Cosmas Saliawali from karate were also at the presentation to receive the shirts.

Empowering sports with Trainers and Assessors training

It does this through regular training programs such as the Oceania Sport Education Program’s (OSEP) Presenter and Assessor training course that started today and will conclude tomorrow.

The program will is being held at the Institute of Business Studies University’s (IBSU) 6 Mile Campus in Port Moresby and is being delivered by OSEP certified facilitators.

Part of this contribution is its partnership with the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) which includes supporting events such as the annual Trukai Fun Run.

And again for this year 2016, IBS is proud to support the elite sports men and women of PNG when they offer their scholarships as prizes for participants of the Trukai Fun Run that enter the draw.
