NRI Teaches Research Methods

The Certificate in Social Science Research Methods (SSRM) Course began classes last week Friday with more than 20 participants including policy analysts, consultants, researchers and other officials from the government and private sector who have registered for this week-long course.

The course covers Planning of social science research, Qualitative research methods in theory and in practice, Quantitative research methods in theory and in practice, and Report writing.

PNG, Aust speakers meet on sustainable futures

The Australia-Papua New Guinea Network and the Australian High Commission hosted experts from a range of sectors to workshop topics in sustainable development and the environment. 

 Participants included representatives from government, business and civil society who discussed shared environmental challenges and opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Discussions included Indigenous resource management and practices, climate change, regulatory frameworks for environmental management and intersections between the environment and private sector.

NRI: Govt must play facilitating role in housing sector

PNGNRI researcher for the property development research program, Professor Eugene Ezebilo, said the government should play a facilitating role and not going about building houses.

Ezebilo told Loop PNG that there should be incentives to attract private investments in residential housing and property.

“For the housing sector to be competitive, the government should develop a policy that governs the private sector.
