Women's NSL Final Showdown

In the opening match, it is a Port Moresby affair as NCD FC meet a highly fancied NCD Hekari FC. The showdown is expected to attract a big crowd of football fans. 
NCD FC Coach, Wira Wama is confident his charges will give Hekari a good challenge and the team is excited to play in the finals.

OFC’s Just Play Program Underway

The program was shelved due to mismanagement and was revived under the president John Kapi Natto after it was seen as a very powerful medium to get the message across the mass population through schools and community.

Just Play Manager, Christine Wamala-Uru, was relieved to see the first phase of the pilot program is getting off the ground in Port Moresby. The program will be conducted in three regions of the National Capital District with Moresby Northwest schools being the first to be followed by Moresby South and Moresby North West by the end of the month or next month.

Gubag Hat-Trick Seals Win For Kapuls

The other goals came from Godfrey Haro who scored his first international goal along with Ati Kepo. Kapuls came on with a slow start but made sure their defense was intact. Al Matar managed to score the first 2 pointer to lead 2-1 at half time.

Kapuls Coach, Marcos Gusmao said, “The game was very tough for Papua New Guinea and the opponent was a very strong team that gave us a lot of problems in our defense, midfield and they dominated the first half.”

Kapuls Arrive In Qatar

Team manager, Joseph Ealedona said it is the FIFA World Cup atmosphere in Qatar and the team is enjoying the moment but with focus on the first game against New Zealand.

He said it was a long flight with six hours to Singapore transit for three hours and took eight hours flight from Singapore to Doha. The team will take some rest today before getting into training.

Teams Need Funds For OFC Challenge

PNGFA General Secretary, Pius Letenge made this comment when clarifying to media about support funding from National Government for PNG Men’s National Team to World Cup 2022 Qatar OFC Challenge in Doha, Qatar next month.

Letenge said PNGFA has written to the Government through the Office of the Sports Minister including several government statutory bodies and private organization seeking support for both men’s and the women’s national team and is waiting for patiently for their responses.

PNGFA trio sign contracts

Their three-year appointments are with the National Forest Service.

The PNGFA has appointed three more senior officers; Goodwill Amos who is the Director of Morobe province-based Forest Research Institute, Constin Bigol who is the Director for Reforestation and Afforestation and Verolyne Daugil who is the Corporate Economist.

Their three-year appointments are with the National Forest Service which is the implementing or operational arm of the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority.

Interesting Times Ahead For Football

“We must have a vision and dream to achieve things in life whether in Sports or Business,” this was a bold message from the PNGFA President, John Kapi Natto.

He said the PNGFA Secretariat's Office and everyone must plan ahead for the better.
“We have managed to fix PNGFA Football, which has been one of our many tasks since taking office three years ago,” Kapi Natto said.

Hagen receives soccer referee course

Mt Hagen Soccer Association president, Samuel Kini highlighted this during a recent referee course held in Mt Hagen.

Kini took over as president in the PNGFA supervised AGM early this year to oversee the affairs of football in Mt Hagen and the province.

He said Mount Hagen Soccer Association came to see light after so many years received its first PNGFA’s course run after it was accepted as a Member Association of PNGFA some 10 years ago.

Kini commended PNGFA president, John Kapi Natto and executives for coming down to visit small urban football association.

PNGFA Set Guideline For ESP football

PNGFA president, John Kapi Natto announced this in front of Member Association Manager, Stanley Khanna to the meeting that the MOU will provide the guide to help them fix the ongoing football issue in East Sepik.

Currently three entities who claim to administer football in the province, the Sepik Soccer Provincial Association (SSPA), Sepik Futsal Association (SFA) and the Wewak Football Association.

Kapi Natto said PNGFA want to see one soccer body to run the administration of football in the province and then down to the districts.
