Terminations highly suspicious – Polye

Thomas Eluh and Timothy Gitua were terminated yesterday with different reasons  respectively.

Eluh was dismissed on conduct charges while Gitua is  on a case involving a weapon being discharged in a night club.

These two senior officers were heavily involved in investigations that led to the warrant of arrest for Prime Minister Peter O’Neill which is now before the courts.

Polye says interference from the government in constitutional offices is unconstitutional and marks the end of democracy.

Top investigators 'terminated' from police force

The two veterans have been in the forefront of major corruption cases against politicians and government departments.

In a press conference this afternoon news of their removal was relayed by former task force sweep team leader Sam Koim.

Eluh’s termination stemmed from his opposition to former police commissioner Geoffrey Vaki over the case involving the Prime Minister, while Gitua was terminated for an offence which is currently before the district court.
