PNG snooker president passes on

Vice president of the PNG Billiards and Snooker Association, John Chan, said Fong passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning after an asthma attack in Kavieng, New Ireland Province.

“I received a phone call very early in the morning from Kavieng that Peter passed away following a massive asthmatic attack.

“It is very sad indeed to hear of this news and to pass it on to all our billiards and snooker members around the country is even harder.”

Peter Fong won several Moresby and Alotau Open Titles as well as the coveted PNG National Snooker Titles.

BSP sinks 20, 000 for Men’s Snooker Titles

At the cheque presentation yesterday at the Lamana Q Club, Vice President of the PNGBSA, John Chan thanked BSP for their continued support towards the prestigious event which on the PNGBSA calendar.

He said this is the 15th consecutive year of BSP’s sponsorship to the PNG Men’s National Snooker Titles.

“BSP’s sponsorship over the years has seen an elevation and growth of snooker in the country,” said Chan.

BSP’s Timothy Sipwanji says that it has been an exciting 15 years of support to the PNGBSA.
