PNGOC trains new batch of HERO’s

The training began on Monday this week at the IBS University campus at 6 Mile, Port Moresby and will run until Friday.

HERO which stands for the PNG Olympic Committee’s values of Honesty, Excellence, Respect and Openness, trains and equips elite Papua New Guinea athletes with the knowledge and skills to run its sports and education programs.

Commission bringing athletes together

This is one of the main ideas behind many of the programs hosted by the PNGAC, like the Athletes Fun Day that was held this month with the theme ‘Sports To Educate’.

More than 70 athletes turned up on the day.

Participating organisations included the Port Moresby General Hospital / Youth Blood Drive, Institute of Business Studies, Electoral Commission, High Performance Sport PNG (PNGSF), Sustainable Coastlines PNG, Kreativ Kanaka and Voice Inc. PNG.

Sport administrator prepared to undergo international training

MEMOS is a training for the Executive Masters in Sport Organizations Management.

The Mission of MEMOS (Executive Masters in Sport Organizations Management) is to help professionals working in national or international sports bodies develop the knowledge and skills required to better manage their organizations.

Interest in environment takes sports captain to Japan

Apart from playing hockey, Milton has a genuine concern for the environment that is now taking him to Japan for the International Youth Conference which is part of the International Exchange Program that offers components for discussions in Education, Environment and Culture.

Milton has chosen environment which is his main area of interest with the sub-topic of study including water, hygiene and sanitation.
