Paramatta Eels

Eels' Jennings wary of old club

And while it won't be the first time Eels centre Michael Jennings lines up against his former club, the 29-year-old is yet to beat them in Parramatta colours and is keen to change that when the two sides clash on Saturday afternoon in the 'Battle of the West'.

Arthur's frustration at patchy, impatient Parra

The visitors had less than a third of the ball through the first 12 minutes of the game but had only conceded one try and when the tide began to turn they quickly levelled the scores with a superb four-pointer to Bevan French.

But as soon as they had returned to level terms with the Raiders the Eels dropped their guard and the resulting three tries in the space of seven minutes that they conceded gave them an assignment that would prove to be too challenging.

Moeroa re-signs with Eels

Moeroa first signed with Parramatta as a 14-year-old in 2010, and has become one of the most versatile forwards in the game.

In announcing Moeroa's re-signing for the next two seasons, Eels coach Brad Arthur said he was pleased the club has retained one of its juniors who has developed into a dominant forward.

Eels sweating on injuries

With other veteran Isaac De Gois sidelined indefinitely with concussion, the Eels are sweating on scan results for Pritchard who was hospitalised on Friday night after also suffering from a case of food poisoning according to Eels teammate Brad Takairangi.

Moeroa facing one-week ban

The Grade 1 charge for his challenge on Titans half Ash Taylor during the Eels loss to the Gold Coast attracts 200 points, but he could avoid a two-game suspension with an early guilty plea.

Fighting spirit can define Titans' season

Entering the game under-manned due to an injury crisis, trailing 12-0 after 15 minutes against the competition leaders and then losing a winger for the game after just 17 minutes, a brave Titans defeat would have earned widespread admiration.

But instead the 16 players left standing in various states of physical duress refused to accept any of the excuses at their disposal and went on to record a morale-boosting 26-14 victory.

Semi Radradra responds to Eels coach Brad Arthur

Radradra bagged the first four-try haul of his 70-game NRL career on Sunday night in the Eels' 34-16 flogging of St George Illawarra in Wollongong - marking the fifth hat-trick of his career.

He scored his first three tries on the left wing, completing relatively simple moves down the Parramatta edge and receiving the final ball from either Michael Jennings or Corey Norman.

Parramatta Eels deducted 12 points, fined $1m for NRL salary cap breaches

The NRL delivered its preliminary findings into its salary cap investigation on Tuesday morning, with the club also handed the maximum financial penalty of $1m and stripped of their 2016 Auckland Nines title.

The punishment will send the Eels straight to the bottom of the ladder when the competition resumes in round 10, following this weekend’s break for representative games.

Battered Eels claim gutsy win over Dogs

With plenty of headlines in the lead-up surrounding the absence of skipper Kieran Foran due to personal issues, the Eels faced a further pre-game reshuffle with Tepai Moeroa ruled out and Daniel Alvaro replaced by the returning Tim Mannah.

Their right edge became unrecognisable with centre Brad Takairangi moved to the halves and right edge defender Beau Scott to the middle in place of Moeroa and early attack down that edge looked like it could cost them the game.

Watmough dismisses retirement talk

A bullish Watmough has denied reports his career is over due to a chronic knee injury after struggling to get on the training paddock for most of the NRL pre-season.

Late last year, Watmough admitted he at times feared for his playing future after struggling to run and walk following knee surgery.

And while he is expected to miss the first few weeks of the new season, he has brushed off suggestions he is ready to hang up his boots.

Watmough suffered a setback during a training mishap three weeks ago but he said he was not ready to call it quits.
