Wingti urges Church leaders to serve faithfully

Wingti said through his experience he has seen many leaders of the Church involve in politics and this as to stop.

The Governor stated this during the 500 years of Luthern Church celebrating the Reformation Day in Hagen adding that if Martin Luther had a great vision for the Church with strong principals than its the challenge for the Church Leaders to do the same.

WHP provincial leaders sworn-in

The assembly members sworn were Governor Pais Wingti, Member for Mul Baiyer Lumusa Koi Trape, Mp for Tambul Nebilyer Win Bakeri Daki, President for Mount Giluwe LLG Michael Mai, Nebilyer LLG President Tony Wek, Lumusa LLG President Patrick Lepa and Baiyer LLG President Paraka Nei.

The ceremonial procession was lead by the division of education in the province, followed by the provincial assembly members from the highlander hotel to the new Kapal Haus.

Wingti calls on provincial leaders to be united

The Governor said he wanted to see leaders act responsibly in their conduct encouraging more like-minded leaders.

He further took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Deputy Governor and the President of Baiyer LLG, Paraka Nei for his leadership service in the province.

Meantime the recently sworn in provincial assembly members reassured that they would work together to bring the province forward.

Financial expo useful, says Western Highlands Governor Wingti

Wingti said this in a statement released from his office during the opening of the  third national Financial Inclusion Exposition program  in Mt Hagen  last Friday.

He praised the important role people play by the financial institutions and the community based organisations in the regions that reach the unbanked rural population.

He said in particular more than 80 percent of this country is made up of low income population living in rural communities and this program recognises rural people, the efforts of growing household income and contribute into their local economy.
