Associate members to also benefit from ONOC OCA relationship

ONOC Secretary General Ricardo Blas says the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed last November between ONOC, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and hosts of the 5th AIMAG, Turkmenistan National Olympic Committee opens up a lot of opportunities for associate members.

“Now they have an opportunity such as Tahiti, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna to actually come here and field a large team using the umbrella of their sporting community.

Oceania endorses participation at Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

Meeting following the conclusion of the OCA General Assembly the delegates of 17 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and Associate Members of Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) unanimously agreed that competiting at the 5th AIMAG is a step in the right direction for the region.

French Polynesia (Tahiti) representative Tauhiti Danilo Nena says this is the best thing to happen for his country since they are only associate members of ONOC and unable to participate in the Olympic Games.

Their only major regional Games is the Pacific Games.
