COUNTING: Nuku’s progressive result – after elimination 6

Nuku Returning Officer Francis Yawalan informed Loop PNG that the final elimination process will start at 9am today to find which candidate will reach the absolute majority figure of 15,351.  

Candidates eliminated as of 6:30pm yesterday were; Kelly Waranguai (Independent), Nelson Kelly (PNG Party) and Adam Mensum Wangu (PANGU), Alfred Talis (Paradise Kingdom Party), Mauri Nemantu (Independent) and Matthew Suni (PNG National Party).   

The three remaining candidates are;

Nuku Returning Officer Francis Yawalan told Loop PNG that after elimination number three, no candidate has reached the absolute majority yet. This means elimination will continue to find a winner.

Candidates eliminated after the third round were Kelly Waranguai (Independent), Nelson Kelly (PNG Party) and Adam Mensum Wangu (PANGU).

The counting is now into the fourth exclusion, and these are the remaining candidates.

Nuku Returning Officer Francis Yawalan told Loop PNG that the absolute majority number stands at 15,351.

Yawalan confirmed that elimination will be carried out today to find the winning candidate.

This is the progressive results as of 3:30pm on Tuesday after completion of quality checks.

Nuku Returning Officer, Francis Yawalan, said 12 ballot boxes holding the primary votes were checked yesterday.   

Below are the progressive results after quality checks were completed at 6:30pm.

Sitting MP maintains lead in Nuku

The National Alliance candidate at the completion of count 11 for the 2017 National Election has collected 8,829 votes. 

In the second placing is former Nuku MP and PNC Party candidate Andrew Kumbakor with 6,521 votes.

And only third spot is Melanesian Alliance candidate, Emmanuel Waimou Nasam mastering only 3,936 votes.

According to Nuku Returning officer Francis Yawalan, the total allowable votes were  20213, and total Informal Votes of 812.

Nine candidates are contesting for the open seat in Sandaun Province.
