State owes K126m in rentals to NSL

NSL revealed this during the announcement of their 2020 Financial Results recently.

This is highlighted as one of the challenges for the super fund in 2021 given the economic downturn and COVID-19 Impact.

Chief Executive Officer, Paul Sayer, said they house many Government Departments and currently the challenge is getting those rentals to be paid so they can reinvent on behalf of their members, who are predominantly public servants and employees of the State.

Kitchnoge is a well-respected and experienced professional who brings close to 20 years’ experience in PNG’s financial sector to the role.

A seasoned investment professional, Kitchnoge established his career with more than 10 years at Deloitte, and then 6 years gaining diverse experience with some of PNG’s biggest businesses including as Head of Research & Advisory with Kina Funds Management, the Licensed Investment Managers for Nambawan Super.

Momase eye victory in round eight

Matangan said he would be looking to retain the line-up that played against Toti City FC last weekend.

NSL on exiting members from others contributions

CEO, Paul Sayer, said this when asked by a member from the Western Highlands Provincial Government.

During NSL’s employer conference recently, the fund was asked by members on the outstanding employer contributions owed by the state, which is worth over K2 billion.

Jim Oki, the Human Resource Executive Manager with the Western Highlands Provincial Government told NSL that 33 staff will be retired, with 17 confirmed to go in 2018.

However, they want confirmation that all their unfunded employer contributions will be paid before they do so.

Victory to Madang, Toti and Wawens

In Port Moresby at the PNG Football Stadium, Madang FC def. Southern Strikers FC 3-2 and in the second encounter, Toti City FC def. FC Morobe 7-2.

To Lae, FC Morobe Wawens def. Buang FC 10-1 at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.

Madang scrape through

The visitors hit the front in the third minute when Captain Stahl Gubag scored off a cross kick.

Emmanuel Airem took Madang out to 3-0 at the break scoring twice in the 20th and again in the 32nd minute.

Rallied on by their supporters, the home side staged a fightback.

Richard Alois powered his side back into the contest striking twice in the 62nd and then again six minutes later to reduce the deficit to one point.

But Southern Strikers failed to make the most of their chances to score allowing a weary Madang side to win the match.

Round five NSL results

Yesterday at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium, Lae, FC Morobe scored in the 87th to pick up a 2-1 win over Besta PNG United FC.

In Port Moresby this afternoon, Madang and FC Momase drew in a vocal crowd to the Bisini Grounds to watch the two sides tussle it out. The match ended at 2-2.

The other round five fixture between Buang FC and Southern Strikers FC has been rescheduled and will be played at a later date.

FC Morobe edge Besta

Besta had all the possession in the opening minutes and looked the more dangerous side.

However, FC Morobe survived this and immediately went on the counter-attack.

Several visits to their opponents proved fruitless, but all the momentum was now with FC Morobe.

But, it was Besta who struck first from a corner that found the head of Irenus Wibena to put his side in front two minutes out from the break.

FC Morobe equalized early in the second half in much similar fashion after Alu Awi headed one past the keeper.

NSL draws this weekend

Matches at Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium in Lae will start with the opening game between Morobe Wawengs and Buan FC at half 12.

Then at 3pm the Toti City FC will take on Madang FC.

Whilst over in Port Moresby’s Bisini soccer grounds, Southern Strikers will be playing Besta PNG united at 3pm.

Wins to Dwellers and Madang FC

The first match of the triple header at Laiwaden Oval in Madang yesterday saw Besta PNG United FC settle for a 2-2 draw with Buang FC.

In the match that followed, Lae City Dwellers FC claimed the 2017 minor premiership after defeating Huawei PS United FC 3-2.

Meanwhile, to the main game, home side Madang FC held on to beat Vitis Yamaros FC 2-1.
