Lae City FC confident for finals meet

At the end of a 10-round normal season ending last year, Lae City FC came out on top claiming the minor premiership with nine wins, one draw and no loss.

Captain Emmanuel Simon is adamant Lae City FC will maintain the momentum to stay on top of their game.

Simon said backed by progressive results of this season, the team heads into the finals race tomorrow with the same attitude and a positive mindset.

He added though the team will be without the services of the Komolong brothers, the spirit in the camp is high and the boys can’t wait for game day.

Champions League finals this Saturday

It will be the showdown between the top two teams from the Northern Conference and Southern Conference under the National Premier League.

The third and fourth place playoff will be between Hekari United FC and Markham FC. This match will start at 1pm.

In the main event, the home side Welgris Morobe FC will host Gulf Erema FC in the grand final set for a 3pm kick-off.

Ticket prices are at K5 - adults and K3 for children. The gates on game day will open at 12pm.

In the Southern Conference in Port Moresby, PRK Erema Gulf FC def. Papaka FC 2-0, Gigira Amoana FC def. Admiralty FC 1-0. The third match between MRDC Hekari United FC and PKA Rapatona FC was cancelled.

Up to the Northern Conference, Markham FC def. Nawaeb FC 1-0, Welgris Morobe United FC def. Bulolo FC 4-0 and Lahi United FC def. Laiweden FC 3-2.

To the first game of the women’s in the Southern Conference, MRDC Hekari United FC def. PRK Laloki United FC 5-1.
