SSL awaits new approval

After the festive break the top 6 finals playoff was scheduled to resume last Saturday however games were disrupted upon a late notice of suspension of games from the Pandemic Controller, over threat of a 3rd wave of the COVID-19.

Southern Super League Competition Secretary Indy Verena said they have to abide by the latest direction despite the competition having fully complied with all Niupla Pasin protocols from day one.

Blacks Tipped For SSL

Port Moresby Vipers Academy may be the minor premiers but Moresby South Blacks is considered the team to watch in the challenge.

While the Port Moresby Vipers Academy may have put an early claim on the silverware after sealing the minor premiership honors, at the end of the regular season, Moresby South Blacks is still considered a threat to the competition.

SSL Concludes Regular Season

NCDC Port Moresby Vipers Academy was declared minor premiers after finishing on top at the conclusion of the regular rounds, followed by Southern Blacks in 2nd place.

The newly introduced competition will host its semi-finals in early January 2022.

Competition Manager Indy Verena said they have decided to schedule the top six playoff for the New Year to allow players and team officials enjoy Christmas with their families first.

Verena said since the new competition kicked off in October, it has been hailed a great success.
