New Zealand Warriors

Warriors sack Nathan Brown ahead of emergency meeting

The club was due to meet on Tuesday morning after Brown informed them he was not willing to move to New Zealand permanently due to personal reasons.

The Daily Telegraph reports the Warriors then moved to sever ties ahead of a scheduled meeting with CEO Cameron George and owner Mark Robinson at 9am.

Sea Eagles dominate Warriors to break hoodoo

The Sea Eagles dominated every facet of the game virtually from the outset to storm to a 24-0 half-time lead and went on with the job in the second term to achieve their first win during the Origin period since 2015.

While captain Daly Cherry-Evans was the only Manly player on Origin duty, star fullback Tom Trbojevic is out for the season with a shoulder injury but their forwards, led by Haumole Olakau’atu, were too much to handle for the Warriors.

Knights come from behind to down Warriors

Making just his second appearance for the Knights, Milford had a hand in three of Newcastle's four tries as they overcame an early 12-0 deficit to snatch just their second win in 10 weeks.

Warriors v Knights: Tevaga shifts to prop; Clifford's NRL return

Leading 18-12 early in the second half the Warriors had put themselves in the box seat to notch a fifth win of the season but errors again proved costly and the opportunity was lost.

The Knights started well enough against Brisbane and looked to be dialled in but their hopes were dashed by a couple of controversial calls and a late Broncos stampede which blew the scoreline out.

Both sides will be desperate to turn their fortunes around and keep touch with the top eight and whoever controls the ball best and maintains their discipline will come away with the victory.

Dragons outlast Warriors in close affair

Both teams scored four tries but St George Illawarra centre Zac Lomax, who scored a double, kicked four goals compared to a solitary conversion by Warriors fullback Reece Walsh.

Warriors centre Viliami Vailea also scored two tries but the star of the match was Dragons fullback Cody Ramsey, who finished with a try and laid one on for Lomax in his first performance of the season in the No.1 jersey.

The loss was compounded for the Warriors by a foot injury that prevented star prop Addin Fonua-Blake finishing the match and may sideline him for a significant period.

Dragons v Warriors: Molo to debut; Lodge departs immediately

Anthony Griffin's men went toe-to-toe with the Gold Coast for 89 minutes before Jamayne Isaako's try secured a golden point victory for the Titans.

The Warriors were blown off the park in the first half but four tries in 15 minutes dragged them back within two points with two minutes to play but the Bunnies held on.

After the Dragons this week and the Knights in round 12, the Warriors face Manly, Cronulla and Penrith in consecutive weeks so it's imperative they get some confidence and momentum up ahead of that tough stretch.

Rabbitohs survive big scare to beat Warriors in thriller

Rabbitohs five-eighth Cody Walker was on fire early, putting aside some criticism earlier in the week around his own personal form to deliver three first half tries as the 2021 grand finalists racked up a 26-0 lead.

However, their healthy advantage was narrowed in the second half as the Warriors got into a groove and dominated field position as the Rabbitohs began to lose control of the match.

Record-breaking Sharks defy odds to beat Warriors with 12 men

The Sharks were down to 12 men for more than an hour after Kennedy was given his marching orders for a clothesline-type tackle on Warriors fullback Reece Walsh in the 16th minute.

They were then down to 11 midway through the second half when Ramien was next to spend time on the sidelines for a high shot on Warriors back-rower Euan Aitken.

However, the home side hit the lead in the first half and never let it go to absorb pressure and come up with 17 unanswered points in the second 40 minutes to record a huge win against all odds.

Sharks v Warriors: Finucane back, McInnes starts; DWZ, Pene return

Their opponents, the Warriors, did exactly that last start with a field goal in golden point to Shaun Johnson turning around a 60-point loss a week earlier.

Johnson, the former Sharks halfback himself, will be looking to get one over his old club in his return to the Shire.

The match-up between Johnson and Hynes will be worth the price of admission alone while the Warriors' forward pack aimed up against Canberra's big men and will need to do so again in enemy territory.

Johnson field goal snatches win for Warriors over Raiders

For the second time since his return to the Warriors this season, Johnson stepped up to secure victory for his team after a late penalty goal by Reece Walsh sent the game to extra time.

It was a heart breaking defeat for the Raiders, who were the better team for most of the match but have now lost their last five games in succession.

The Raiders led 20-12 at halftime but did not score a point in the second term.
