New Normal

New normal in Courts

The Supreme and National court registrar, Ian Augerea, says all courts throughout the country are instructed to do the same.

The directions were for all staff and public accessing the court complex to wear a mask at all times. A hand wash station has been set up for the public to wash their hands before proceeding into the courthouse.

Their temperatures will be checked at the entry point and social distancing must be practiced as per the red lines indicated on the footpath and in the courtrooms.

Familiarise yourselves with the ‘new normal’

With the COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the world are forced to change the way they live. And PNG is no different.

The coronavirus disease has devastated most parts of the world, forcing changes to be made to the way a country is run, the way businesses operate or generally how we socialise.

In this afternoon’s COVID-19 update, the Deputy State of Emergency Controller, Dr Paison Dakulala, said provinces are stepping up in terms of rapid response team preparations, isolation and quarantine facilities, risk communication and social distancing.

Sanap Wantaim photo contest announces winners

A photo contest was also announced last October to boost support towards the launch of the “New Normal” in Port Moresby.

Contestants were encouraged to write a piece of less than 250 words to accompany the photo.

The following are the winners of the Photo Contest; Imelda Wangi Wavik, Fabian Bongai, Olivia A'torea Fabila, Johnetta Lili and Paula Walo.

Their pictures promoted a scene where women and girls are respected and feel safe to be able to claim the public spaces of the city as their own.

NCD youths aim to make city safe

Corresponding with the launch of the “Sanap Wantaim” campaign launch last Friday, a photo contest was also announced to boost support towards the launch of the “New Normal” in Port Moresby.

The contest is open to everyone. However, the picture must promote a new normal where women and girls are respected and feel safe to be able to claim the public spaces of the city as their own.

Contestants are encouraged to write a piece of less than 250 words to accompany the photo.
