These gifts were presented by Director Medical Services Dr. Kone Sobi on the World Blood Donor day celebration hosted by Sir Brian Bell Centre for Blood Transfusion at Port Moresby General Hospital on Wednesday 14th June, 2023.

Deputy Student Affairs at Don Bosco Technical Secondary School Peter Ndrasal said donating blood freely is part of their responsibility as Bosconians fulfilling one of their identity in ‘serving others’.  

Teachers concerned with transport for students

They have requested NCD to provide the APEC buses to pick up students from the main bus stops.

They raised these queries during an NCD Teachers dialogue on Friday, May 1st 2020.

It was back to business this week with public servants back to work and city residents going about their daily routines. The State Controller had relaxed some of the restrictions starting this week. Buses were back on the road but are only carrying 15 passengers as per SOE directives.

Animal Brain Association members nabbed by police

Apart from the 40 that were caught, more than half of the group fled the drinking spot when police arrived.

Superintendent for Operations Brian Kombe said the students were caught drink homebrew from a bucket as well as a 44 gallon drum of which was brought back to the station with the 40 boys.

Part of the group were homeschoolers’ while the rest attended Dela Salle High School, Kilakila Secondary, Tokara High School, New Erima Primary School and Wardstrip Primary School.

“One was a Second Year student from the University of Technology,” said Kombe.

Digicel Cup to deliver school holiday program in Port Moresby

This event will mark the start of this school program in its inaugural year.

There will be 195 students from 10 schools in Port Moresby expected to participate in a variety of fun-filled activities including a special visit  from the Port Moresby-based Digicel Cup players as well as reps from the SP PNG Hunters.

NCD schools run relay in Moresby Northeast

More than 500 students participated from various schools including Wardstrip Primary, Gordon International, Port Moresby International, Bavaroko and Coronation primary schools.

The students were excited and followed the baton as far as they could run. The runners from each school were dressed in their school uniform as they proudly ran with the baton.

Students from Wardstrip and Bavaroko had a much bigger crowd that ran with the baton.
