NCD Metropolitan Commander

Police need to grasp new traffic rules

NCD Metropolitan Commander, Perou N’Dranou, said at present he does not have a copy of the new road traffic laws.

N’Dranou said while the new Road Traffic Rules have come into effect on the 1st of June, police throughout NCD are still not familiar with it.

He understands police traffic officers are the only ones aware of the new laws.

N’Dranou said before police can enforce these laws, they must clearly understand it.

Homicide cases still under investigation

These cases include the body of the young man found dead at the Treasury building, the shooting of the former BDA Chairman, Fred Konga as well the case of veteran journalist, Rosalyn Albaniel Evara.

Officer in Charge for Homicide, John Daviaga said the cases haven’t had any new development yet therefore; CID hasn’t had the opportunity to arrest anyone as yet either.

He said the division is hoping to get some leads on the cases and arrest suspects.
