NBPOL Lends a Hand

This week, NBPOL donated 1,400 COVID testing kits to the Goroka Provincial Hospitals’ Emergency Department, and four oxygen concentrators destined for selected district health facilities.

This donation was made by NBPOL Country Manager, Robert Nilkare and would go towards helping the province manage its high community transmission rate.

Recently appointed Chairman of the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority (EHPHA), Fego Kiniafa, received the donation. He thanked NBPOL for saving the lives of thousands of people.

NBPOL donates K50,000 to quake disaster

Receiving the donations on behalf of the provincial governments was Hela Administrator William Bando.

New Britain Palm Oil Country Manager, Robert Nilkare, said the least they can do is to assist the quake disaster by donating K50,000 to the victims.

He said although it was a substantial amount but they do feel for the victims in the quake disaster provinces.  

“We are very sorry and our condolences to those families who have lost loved ones and properties.”

Air Niugini joined the organisation in commemorating this milestone, in Kimbe, West New Britain Province.

Foreign organisations urged to abide by PNG laws

New Britain Palm Oil country manager, Robert Nilkare, made the firm call during a panel discussion yesterday following the launch of the The Report: Papua New Guinea 2016, by the Oxford Business Group (OBG).

Nilkare said foreign investors must follow procedures and laws when applying to do business.

“My message to investors coming in, don’t come through the back door!

“Investors who want to come in, you come through the front door, do the right thing (and) pay your taxes.

Kimbe Public Library still provides service

The Library has an experienced Librarian with more than 35 years of experience serving there. Soft spoken Roselyne Loi from Ruango village, after leaving Kimbe Secondary School in 2012 gave an account of her work here.

“I started work here with only 115 books or so and bare shelves. The books you see now on the shelves were purchased from bookshops, shops around Kimbe and even second hand shops. I am very passionate about my job and I love to see people coming into the Library to do their research or just spend time reading for information and knowledge gathering.

Haella Primary School receives books from NBPOL

The books included text books for Grades 7 & 8 and reading and activity books for the lower primary classes.

Haella Primary School is a Level 6 school accommodating 600 plus students with 24 teachers in the Primary School and 4 in the Elementary School together totalling 30 teachers.

Other schools to be included in this program are; Talasea High School, Patanga Primary, Garu and Max Benjamin Elementary School.

In the second quarter, schools within the Hoskins LLG and Mosa LLG will be receiving books organised by NBPOL Sustainability Department.

NBPOL officers hold financial literacy training

An invitation from the community members lodged through their Ward Member  Leslie Gah saw training facilitated by NBPOL Sustainability Community Officer.

Facilitated in two days, the participants learned basic skills about Financial Planning, Budgets, Cash Flow Statements and purpose of Savings and Banking.

The villages announced today that this financial literacy training has really provided an insight and skills for them and thanked NBPOL for facilitating this training.
