NCC break-in under investigation

Officer-in-Charge of the Criminal Investigation Division at Boroko police station, Chief Inspector Charles Winuan, said police had collected several fingerprints at the crime scene and are still working on this to prove who committed the offences.
 
Police have alleged that it was an inside job because access cards were used to gain entry into the building. 

Warning on use of Rapid Test Kits

Deputy Controller of the National Pandemic Response Dr Daoni Esorom said currently, there’s only one test kit namely Panbio that is approved as a rapid test kit to be used to test for COVID-19.

Any other test kit being used is not approved and anybody selling them must stop. Dr Esorom stressed that these unapproved test kits must also be taken off the shelves.

Working Together To Spread The Word

They have joined hands with the Nimamar Local Level Government, New Ireland Provincial Health Authority (NIPHA), National Control Centre (NCC) and the Department of Health (NDOH).

A combined medical team from the NCC for COVID-19 from Port Moresby and NIPHA were in Lihir recently to conduct advocacy and awareness about the COVID vaccines.

The company has been working with all arms of government – the Nimamar Local Level Government, the New Ireland Provincial Health Authority, the National Control Centre and the National Department of Health.

COVID-19 Status Update

Of this, 31,244 have recovered and 436 have died. The newly reported cases as of Sunday 14th November were 32 out of 1,305 people diagnosed. Six deaths were also reported.

Meanwhile in Eastern Highlands Province, the first period of partial lockdown, the 2pm-6am daily curfew, has been lifted. The number of patients coming through the COVID-19 facilities have reduced, with only 10 in-patients currently within the facility.

Ban on gatherings of 20-plus persons

Mr Manning has directed that events/gatherings, inclusive of social (clubbing/bar activities, dances, dinners, parties, sporting competitions etc) and religious activities (church, fellowships etc.) will not be approved.

 

Further, all prior approvals granted for gatherings/events that will occur between 20 September, 2021 to 20 October 2021 are now revoked. Those that have been granted prior approvals must liaise with the Niupela Pasin team at the National Control Centre.

 

200 Voluntarily Vaccinated

The National Control Centre in collaboration with Vision City, conducted onsite vaccinations at the Amphitheatre for the public to get their first or second doses.

Some of PNG’s popular vocal artists, motivational speakers, church leaders and other well-known citizens who have gotten the jab, shared their experience with those in attendance.

The session began at 8am in the morning and ended at 2pm in the afternoon.

There will be similar vaccination programs in the future. Members of the public will be advised on where to go to receive vaccinations.
