Wewak bikers ride to Madang with a message

RBN Maintenance Limited, a local company in Madang town, came on board and supported the bikers with biscuit and water worth K500 and K100 cash to help them return to Wewak, East Sepik Province.

The bikers came on August 11, into the second day of Momase Regional Besta Qualifiers, to support their teams from Wewak, Ambunit, Maprik, Hulupu and Passam. And also, for the first time, to see how the teams from other provinces of Momase compete.

Momase Regional Besta Qualifiers kicks off

With 32 teams vying for the first and second spot to qualify for the second leg of Besta Cup Madang has been in a real bustle.

Madang Provincial Administrator Daniel Aloi representing the Madang Provincial Government and other sponsors officially kicked off the tournament.

Aloi was accompanied by Madang Soccer Association President Ray Romo and officers from the office of Madang governor Jim Kas.

Mr Aloi while welcoming the teams said soccer is the backbone of Momase and welcomed all the teams from West Sepik, East Sepik, and Morobe into Madang.

Madang ready to host Momase Regional Besta Qualifiers

Madang Soccer Association president Ray Romo, in a meeting with the local organising committee and chairman of Momase Soccer Federation, Sigi Beche, reiterated that MSA will do everything possible to make this tournament a success.

“As the president of one of the oldest associations in the country, my executives and I are ready to host the tournament on our grounds. At the same time, we will provide necessary support to the local organising committee in whatever way we can.
