Maguire was contracted with Wests Tigers until the end of the 2023 season, but the club confirmed that he would depart as coach ahead of their Round 14 clash against the Sea Eagles on Sunday..

Brett Kimmorley will take over as interim for the rest of the year, having most recently featured as the club's Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership coach.

The Tigers are about to commence a post-season review led by CEO Justin Pascoe and head of football Adam Hartigan and Sunday’s humiliating loss certainly doesn’t put Maguire in good stead.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the Tigers received several expressions of interest for Maguire’s job but the club won’t entertain any other options until a call is made on the coach.

The NRL's coaching carousel has taken its next stop with Ivan Cleary released by the Tigers and Maguire confirmed as his successor for the next three seasons.

Maguire will continue his role with the New Zealand national team, a role handed to him after he was sacked by Souths at the end of last year.

Seibold is part of a new-look coaching team at the Rabbitohs this season with Kurt Wrigley and Wayne Collins both moving on and replaced by Seibold and another former Raider in David Furner.

It was revealed on Tuesday afternoon that the Roosters had signed the 24-year-old on a two-year-deal starting in 2017. 

Maguire said he would have liked to have kept Keary in Redfern beyond 2016 but conceded salary cap pressures had played their part in the decision. 

"All those great players that you have let go of at some stage; it's about the salary cap and what goes on in club land," he said. 

"Luke and I have talked about him staying but also the opportunities for him to leave, and for various reasons he's chosen those.
