NBA icon Michael Jordan tops the list for richest athletes of all-time

Sportico has revealed what it estimates to be the 25 highest-paid athletes in history, with the list adjusted for inflation.

Sitting atop the list is none other than Jordan, the six-time NBA champion widely regarded as the greatest basketballer of all time.

According to the report, Jordan accumulated $AUD2.77 billion throughout his stellar career, but that sum was adjusted to $3.54 billion when accounting for inflation.

LeBron shuts down Jordan comparisons for good

Ever since James was dunking on fellow teenagers, pundits have been linking the superstar to Jordan, but it may not be an apt comparison after all.

James, speaking ahead of Thursday's game against the Boston Celtics, poured water on the hype linking him to the great Bulls legend who won six NBA championships.

"No, [Jordan] was much more of a scorer, at that point did a lot of post work, but our games are just different," James said via Cavs.com .

Wade:LeBron won't top Michael Jordan's legacy

"It's not possible," Wade told ESPN .

Wade was speaking about their respective legacies, which are subjective by nature.

Wade gave his response while laughing, but his point is pretty clear—there is no topping MJ. He said the best James can do is tie it, but even then he has a long way to go.

"They're both on the golf course," Wade said, using an analogy.

THE 12 SUPERSTARS WHO MAKE ALL-TIME USA DREAM TEAM

On all but one occasion, Team USA came home with the gold -- yet you might be surprised to learn that the bronze-medal team, though the result was an unprecedented disaster, isn’t the worst Olympic squad we’ve seen in the past 24 years.

As for the best? Well, you can probably guess that one.

Michael Jordan tells jury he values his image 'preciously'

It's been determined that Dominick's used Jordan's image without permission in a 2009 ad. A Chicago federal court jury must determine how much Dominick's owner must pay for the transgression.

Jordan's testified Tuesday morning, saying he brought the lawsuit to protect his image. His attorney previously told the jury that the market value of Jordan's name to Nike was at least $480 million and each commercial use of Jordan's name is worth $10 million.

Michael Jordan expected to testify in misuse of image case

It's been determined Dominick's used Jordan's image without permission in a 2009 ad. A Chicago federal court jury must determine how much Dominick's owner must pay for the transgression.

Jordan's testimony Tuesday would come a day after his business manager, Curtis Polk, testified that marketing deals can have promotional value for Jordan beyond cash compensation.

Michael Jordan in court for trial on his brand value

Tuesday's trial in Chicago federal court stems from a lawsuit the six-time NBA champion brought against a grocery-store chain for the unauthorized use his name and persona in an ad.

The 52-year-old is expected to testify. He'll likely discuss why he tightly controls his image and why he believes the now-defunct Dominick's Finer Foods undermined it.

A judge previously found Dominick's invoked Jordan's identity without permission. The only unresolved issue is damages.
