The Duchess of Sussex, cradling her baby bump as she is wont to do, visited one of her four new patronages, an animal welfare organisation called Mayhew earlier this week.

While being introduced to a group of volunteers and beneficiaries, Meghan met a woman whose name is Peggy McEachrom, according to People magazine.

In an adorably awkward moment captured on video, McEachrom paid the former Suitsstar several compliments, including one particularly unexpected one.

Hundreds more are settling in for a night on the streets of Windsor to secure the best viewing spot.

The couple will wed at noon at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, before travelling through the town in a carriage at about 13:00 BST.

In her vows, Ms Markle will not promise to "obey" her husband and Prince Harry has chosen to have a wedding ring.

Prince Charles will walk Ms Markle down the aisle, after her father, Thomas, was unable to attend for health reasons.

Mr Markle told celebrity news website TMZ, at his home in Mexico, that he had decided not to attend his daughter's wedding to Prince Harry.

Kensington Palace issued a statement saying it was "a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle".

It follows Mail on Sunday reports that Ms Markle's father had staged pictures for a paparazzi photographer.

The widely circulated photographs showed him being measured for a wedding suit and looking at newspaper stories about his daughter.

Prince Harry's fiancee took the decision because the accounts "haven't been used for some time". Ms Markle also ran her own lifestyle website, The Tig, which she closed in April 2017.

The palace said the former actress and UN ambassador was grateful to everyone who had followed her over the years.

The move came after the couple made their first official visit in London.

In December 2017, Ms Markle had 1.9 million people following her posts on Instagram, and more than 350,000 Twitter followers.

Her Facebook page had almost 800,000 likes.

The pair confirmed their engagement in November and said the service would be at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The date breaks with tradition as royal weddings usually take place on a weekday - the Queen wed on a Thursday and the Duke of Cambridge on a Friday.

The wedding will be on the same day as the FA Cup Final, which Prince William normally attends as FA president.

The time of the match has yet to be confirmed, but in recent years it has taken place at 17:30 GMT.

Excited crowds cheered as the couple greeted well-wishers ahead of a visit to a World Aids Day charity fair hosted by the Terrence Higgins Trust.

They split up to talk to people lining both sides of their route and were given cards, flowers and chocolate.

After the charity fair, they met head teachers at a nearby school.

Well-wishers gathered in the city ahead of the visit to catch a glimpse of the couple, including Helena Bottomley, Zoe Scott and Carole Bingham, from East and West Bridgford.

The couple posed for their first picture together after the announcement on Monday.

Asked if his proposal was romantic, Harry replied: "Of course it was," before leaving with an arm around his fiancée who showed off her diamond engagement ring to photographers.

Harry, 33, Queen Elizabeth's grandson and fifth in line to the British throne, and Markle, 36, best known for her role in the US TV legal drama Suits, got engaged earlier this month in London.

Bookmakers in the UK have suspended betting on another royal wedding as speculation heats up that a happy announcement is imminent.

Gambling company Ladbrokes closed betting that the couple would marry next year at odds of 4/6.

"All bets are off when it comes to Harry and Meghan walking down the aisle next year," Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge told the Evening Standard.

"With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge already expecting their third child, fans will be overjoyed at the prospect of two new arrivals into the royal family next year."

The star of US drama Suits told Vanity Fair the pair are enjoying "special" time together.

"We're two people who are really happy and in love," the 36-year-old said.

Markle revealed she and the prince had been in a relationship for six months before the rest of the world found out at the end of 2016.

There was a media frenzy when it was revealed Harry was dating the US star, the pair having met in July last year.

It was the first public outing for Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and American actress Meghan Markle.
