Facebook CEO Zuckerberg to take two months of paternity leave

The 31-year-old, one of Silicon Valley's most visible leaders, did not say who would be running the company while he is out. Facebook did not immediately respond to an inquiry.

Facebook, the world's biggest online social network, allows its U.S. employees to take up to four months of paid maternity or paternity leave, which they can use all at once or throughout the first year of their child's life, which is generous by U.S. standards. Zuckerberg announced in July that he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were expecting a baby girl.

Facebook is finally creating a 'Dislike' button

The social network's CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today (September 14) at a Facebook townhall that the new option will be geared towards allowing users to express "empathy".

"I think people have asked about the Dislike button for many years," he explained. "Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it."

The tech billionaire continued: "What [users] really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment."
