The fight is scheduled to take place in Port Moresby, the heart of Papua New Guinea, and has been officially confirmed by MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons on social media.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of the Man you are,” Jinkee Pacquiao wrote on Instagram with a photo of the couple embracing.

“We your family have seen how much you have toiled , (sacrificed) and given of yourself blood sweat and tears since the beginning when you dreamed of becoming world champion. You never think of yourself and not afraid to risk your life on the ring time and time again because you love to make the people happy.

‘End of a legend?’ Manny stunned by ‘puzzle’ he ‘couldn’t answer’ in boxing boilover

Pacquiao had admitted in the lead-up to the fight that he was unsure if it would be the last of his career.

The 42-year-old looked a very different version of himself to the own that fought Keith Thurman, struggling to deal with Ugas’ counter game.

It was not just Ugas’ jabs that gave him the advantage though with his right hand too troubling Pacquiao all night.

“It was a hard time, making an adjustment about his style and I think that was the problem for me because I didn’t make an adjustment,” Pacquiao said post-fight.

Thurman - previously undefeated - had promised to send the 40-year-old Fillipino into retirement, but was knocked down in the first round before a thrilling fight went the distance.

"I knew it was too close," said American Thurman. "He got the knockdown so he had momentum in round one. This was a beautiful night of boxing."

The 30-year-old had been looking for his 30th straight win.

Two judges scored it 115-112 to Pacquiao, while the other gave it 114-113 to Thurman.

Pacquiao camp reject Khan claim

Khan announced on Tuesday that "both parties have signed the fight off" for Riyadh on November 8, suggesting only an injury to Pacquiao in his clash with Keith Thurman could scupper the planned bout.

But with Pacquiao firmly focused on taking on Thurman for the WBA welterweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday, his team have spoken on his behalf to reject Khan’s claim.

Sean Gibbons, president of MP Promotions, told BoxingScene.com: "The Amir Khan fight is news to us."

Freddie Roach 'hurt' by Manny Pacquiao snub after split

In a brief statement, Roach said his 16-year association with former world champion Pacquiao had been terminated ahead of the 39-year-old fighter's upcoming world title fight with Lucas Matthysse.

Roach said he wished Pacquiao well for the future but had been "hurt" after learning of the Filipino's decision to axe him indirectly.

"Manny and I had a great run for 15 years - longer than most marriages and certainly a rarity for boxing," said Roach.

"I wouldn't trade any of it. Inside the boxing ring and the political ring, I wish Manny nothing but the best.

Pacquiao out of rematch

Former belt holder Jessie Vargas shapes as the man most likely, after Pacquiao's withdrawal on Friday due to his commitments as a Philippines senator.

Horn's trainer Glenn Rushton said with the Australian's rise to world champion, he had become the hunted and would have no trouble luring a big-name fighter to Brisbane for a November title defence.

Rushton anticipates a new opponent being locked in within a week or so, with the venue dependent on the profile of Horn's rival.

"We want to bring a big fight to Brisbane this year," Rushton said on Friday.

Pacquiao hints at Horn rematch

"Let the people judge for themselves. People saw what happened," Pacquiao said in a statement, CNN Philippines reports.

"We have seen worse judgements in the past where judges manipulated results. Nothing surprises me now."

Pacquiao relinquished his WBO welterweight championship title when underdog Horn was awarded a unanimous decision victory at the 'Battle of Brisbane' fight on July 2.
