Alternate Government to visit Enga, Lae

Vocal Opposition Member and Madang MP, Bryan Kramer, says Sir Peter hopes to address his people following his decision to leave the Government coalition.

After the May 17th forum, the group will be traveling own to Lae on the 21st.

“We’re staging a public forum at the Eriku Oval, and this is organised at the invitation of the Governor for Morobe, as well as the Open member for Lae,” stated Kramer.

Madang in a political frenzy

Two attempts by Madang MP, Bryan Kramer, to address the crowd on Tuesday, responding to the Prime Minister’s remarks on service delivery at the airport project launch, and later at Bates oval, was downplayed by the government MPs.

The crowd that gathered to hear the leaders clearly had opposing views.

While it may all be politics, Madang town mayor Joe Yama, while speaking at the Bates Oval on Tuesday afternoon, appealed to the leaders not to fight amongst themselves.

“People want service,” he made the appeal on behalf of the 10 councils and people of Madang.

Kramer refers Gamato to fraud directorate

This regards the Commission’s decision in the declaration of the Southern Highlands provincial seat.

Bryan Kramer met with the media yesterday, describing the EC’s decision as an act of electoral fraud.

“I submitted the basis of my determination that constitutes electoral fraud by the Commissioner, and filed a complaint with the National Fraud (Directorate). I intend to do the same with the Ombudsman Commission, and I am giving them up to a month to allow them to consider the evidence and whether they will take any formal action.”

Evidence will be made available for alleged ‘paid’ journo

Bryan Kramer stated that legal action may also be taken if these payments are not justified for the media house of the individual journalist concerned.

Kramer says if these payments are not lawful and no formal process was followed then legal actions will be taken against those involved.

“We can’t just go around making out payments, even as the member for Madang I cannot just make payments at my discretion,” he said.

Opposition storm out after Kramer's referral

This follows the request by Tewai-Siassi MP, Dr Kobby Bomareo, in Parliament yesterday after a Facebook post by Kramer which Bomareo said demeaned Energy Minister Sam Basil as a leader.

Kramer's Facebook post was in response to an article quoting Minister Basil’s intention to ban Facebook for a month.

Speaker Job Pomat said there was a prima facie case for Kramer to answer to and referred him.

Teachers’ pay rise queried in Parliament

The teachers’ plight was raised by Madang MP Bryan Kramer in parliament last week.

The teaching sector is one of the largest in the country.

In 2016 the government promised the 57,000 teachers in the country a 3 percent pay increment in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

2 years have passed and the issue remains stagnant.

Kramer, directing his question to Education Minister Nick Kuman and Minister for Treasury, Charles Abel, demanded definite answers if these increments were budgeted for and confirm when the increments will be paid.

Leave matters to me, MP tells residents

“I will deal with the situation in finding out the cause behind the deaths of the four youth, and also to acknowledge those who were killed,” he stated.

Four youth were allegedly killed by police during the Madang unrest, which started with an April 7 confrontation at Four-Mile market.

Madang used to be a safe haven: Kramer

Madang MP Bryan Kramer says most of the law and order issues can be attributed to the fact that most of the trouble makers and drifters from neighbouring provinces have taken refuge in the town area.

“Madang now has become one of the crime capitals of the country, simply because every trouble maker has come to Madang.”

The Member says he intends to work with the Local level Government council and start to carry out social mapping of all Madang land and in terms of settlements, understand who the troublemakers are and ensure that they are evicted from the province.

What prompted teacher's horrific killing?

The 28-year-old teacher was decapitated on April 3.

This incident ignited a series of events that led to another four deaths and an uprising in Madang which lasted for over three days.

Member for Madang, Bryan Kramer, says according to reports gathered, the late Sam Gawi was targeted.

Work underway to restore Madang water supply

Madang MP, Bryan Kramer, with representatives from Water PNG and PNG Power travelled up to the Water Plant at Panim village a 15 minutes’ drive out of Madang Town.

With assistance from Niugini Electrical, Sigma and Fimali Ltd, inspections are currently being made to assess the damages made.

In an interview with Mr. Kramer, he said, "We have arranged for contractors to come on site because water is a critical issue and we cannot wait for months to do the repairs."

Fimali Ltd. and Niugini Electrical have arranged for parts to come in this week.
