Lufa MP calls for transparent operations in district

The lack of physical evidence of development in the district speaks volumes of the quality of leadership, he said, and all district officials entrusted to serve the people should share the blame.

“We must now provide a new pathway of leadership, which is based on the Holy Bible and serve our people with honesty, integrity and ensure transparency in all our operations.”

Kavori made the statement during the official swearing-in ceremony at Lufa station district Headquarters for the first time after 15 years.

Provincial Election Manager Steven Koupa confirmed this today.

He said the delay is on the transportation of ballot papers, which a helicopter company is yet to deliver.

The frustrated Koupa said they already paid an advancement to the firm and didn’t see any reason for the delay.

He further reiterated that the four days of delay will affect their start of counting as well.

“We are planning to start the counting period this coming Sunday but cannot do so because of the delays.
