Over K48,000 raised in RSPCA fundraiser

The Longest Lunch, hosted on Sunday 18th of February, raised enough for the organisation to purchase its top 5 items from its wish list.

The items are an orthopaedic pack, a suction unit, an animal scale, a diagnostic set for operating and a blood pressure monitor.

“The support of the people of Port Moresby for our event was just amazing. We can’t thank everyone enough,” said RSPCA general manager, Hellen White.

This fundraising event will help raise money for its animal shelter.

In a statement, community liaison coordinator, Brigitte Baki-Ta’u, said the animal shelter houses up to 50+ animals per month (mainly cats and dogs) and provides food, water, shelter and regular health checks.

“The animals in our shelter are then put up for adoption whereby the process allows us to find suitable homes for them,” stated Baki-Ta’u.
