A-League

Nani’s imminent arrival to the A-League is exciting - here's why

The A-League has played host to many talents from across the globe – albeit most of them making the move to Australia towards the end of their careers – since its formulation back in 2005.

The narrative certainly does not change for the 35-year-old winger who last played in Italy’s Serie A last season for eventually relegated outfit Venezia.

Nani has achieved so much during his playing career which has seen him claim 12 major honours at Manchester United as well as four titles during his different spells at Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.

PNGFA Lauds Semmy’s International Stint

Kapi Natto said the news of Semmy’s trial is exciting for football followers in PNG and across Oceania.

A previous trial at Wellington Phoenix proved unsuccessful, but Semmy's coach with Hamilton Wanderers in New Zealand, Kane Herbert, is confident this time the outcome will be different.

“In my opinion, he probably should have had the opportunity earlier, but he's been patient.”

“He's worked really, really hard and now he's got a chance to go and prove himself at Newcastle and, hopefully, play in the A-League,” he said.

Phoenix go down to Adelaide United

The result moves Adelaide level with the Phoenix in fourth place, with three regular season matches remaining.

The home side enjoyed an explosive first half, racing to a 3-0 lead before going down to 10-men.
