New Veifa'a access road launched

The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement  and the recent ground breaking ceremony kicks off the construction of the 2km road project.

The access feeder road starts in Avei Village and connects to the existing road that passes through the six impact villages, into the hinterlands of West Mekeo.

Local woman, Solance Aitsi, through tears of relief and joy, recalled the challenges of the old Veifa'a Inawi road where they were harassed by opportunists, and had to cross flooded rivers that were waist deep, just to avoid this.

Momase Regional Youth Games Launched

On Tuesday June 4, 2023, the official host contract signing took place between the Regional Youth Games Council, Director General for National Youth Development Authority, Joe Itaki and the Momase Regional Youth Games Committee, and Madang Provincial Administrator, Frank Lau.

The games will see participants from East and West Sepik, Morobe and Madang convene in Madang town; a total of 26 districts anticipated to meet at Laiwaden Oval and play four sports codes; Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball and Rugby 9s.

EU Inaugurates Munji-Haripmo Road

The new road will serve more than 2000 farmers and villagers of Boikin and Dagua LLG of Wewak District.

The EU Ambassador to PNG His Excellency, Ambassador Jernej Videtič, the Head of the EU Delegation to PNG was in East Sepik recently to inaugurate the rehabilitation of a 6.5 km Munji-Haripmo farm-to-market access road being implemented by the EU-STREIT PNG Programme.

Led by ILO, this project will support 2,200 users as well as open up economic opportunities for the rural communities.

World Cup emblem launched

This key visual asset of the Women’s U20 FIFA World Cup to be held on PNG soil was unveiled as a key milestone on the road to the November Women’s U20 FIFA World Cup, and one that the host country is extremely proud to share with the world.

The emblem blends unique attributes of the FIFA World Cup and of Papua New Guinea as host nation. The creative inspiration for the emblem was drawn from both PNG’s geographical regions and its heritage.
