Until his last few days, he still couldn't believe the sheer amount of issues that had occurred in this election. 
The late Sir Andrew Trawen's view on the 2017 National Elections was briefly expressed by close friend and senior Journalist, Joseph Ealedona at his funeral service on Monday.

Leaders and loved ones bid farewell to Sir Andrew

It was the funeral of the late Sir Andrew Trawen.

Among those who came to pay their respects were Opposition Leader, Patrick Pruaitch, National Planning Minister Richard Maru, Electoral Commissioner Patilus Gamato and the Electoral Commissioner Staff and the Registrar of Political Parties, Dr Alphonse Gelu.

Dr Gelu, remembering Sir Andrew during his time as the Chairman of the Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates Commission said he was a compassionate leader, believing in political parties.

Sir Andrew passes away

The late Sir Andrew died this morning at 9 o'clock after a short illness.

His body remains at the family residence at North Waigani.

He will be taken to the funeral home later this afternoon.

Details of the funeral arrangements will be released by the family in due course.

Sir Andrew was the seventh Electoral Commissioner of PNG. He stepped down from his post in 2015, after 41 years of distinguished service to Papua New Guinea.

He was in charge of the last three elections; 2002, 2007 and 2012.
