Lae softball clubs vie for trophy

Top clubs will be giving their all this Saturday to claim the silverware.

The Digicel Lae Softball Association 2021 preseason has slowly been picking up pace since starting on January 30th.

After four weekends, four top teams are looking forward to bringing home the trophy.

In the men’s division, the Admiralty Marlins are leading the competition with 19 points, followed closely behind by the Bismark Softball Club on 18.

Week 2 ended on a high with the president noting positive progress in the competition.

“We now only have three games left before the big dance on the 27th of February,” stated Lindsay Pulu.

“It is still an open race to see which two teams finish off in first and second place, earning the right to stake claim to the inaugural Digicel LSA President’s Trophy.

President Lindsay Pulu extended his appreciation to Digicel PNG for stepping in with K6,000 and merchandise for the association.

The family-oriented sport of softball needs all the help it can get.

President Pulu highlighted their challenges after receiving a dummy cheque of K6,000 from Digicel on Friday January 22nd.
