KPHL supports UNITECH Engineering

The accord establishes the standard and benchmark for professional engineering education across countries and provides assurance when an engineering degree is awarded by one of its member countries, the degree is recognized by all other members in the Washington Accord.

PNG is not a member of the Accord yet but is progressing towards becoming a member through financial assistance as such.

Pre-FEED scope change on Western Pipeline likely

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) Managing Director, Wapu Sonk, told Loop PNG that a decision will be made on the Pre-FEED whether to alter it or proceed ahead into FEED.

“We’ve finalized the pre-FEED and we have the report that we are starting now, and we will make a decision on whether to re-do the some parts of the pre-FEED work or go straight into FEED.

“But at the moment it looks like we will take some time to pre-FEED work on scope change that we are proposing,” Sonk said.

Western Province to back Western Pipeline

Deputy Governor, Abini Gesele, told Loop PNG that he has spoken to KPHL and wants to see cooperation between all stakeholders to make the project a reality and for the people to benefit.

The proposed third train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project was announced by KPHL Managing Director, Wapu Sonk, in Sydney, Australia, last month.

The Western Pipeline aims to aggregate all the gas fields in the Western Province into a single pipeline that will run all the way to Port Moresby.

Beneficiary groups to sign transfer documents

Managing Director Wapu Sonk announced that these groups will be called in over the coming weeks to sign up on the share transfer documents as well as the vendor note being offered by KPHL.

The following beneficiary groups have come forward;

(1) PNG LNG Plantsite

(2) PNG LNG Pipeline

(3) PDL 9 - Juha

(4) PDL 4 - Gobe and,

(5) Fly River Provincial Government.

KPHL to drive Western Pipeline

The Western Pipeline aims to aggregate all the gas fields in the province into a single pipeline that will run all the way to Port Moresby.

The gas fields include P’yang, Stanley, Ketu, Elevala, Ubuntu, Puk Puk, Douglas and Kemu.

The preposition is expected to have the potential to underpin all manner of gas commercialisation.

This was revealed by KPHL Managing Director, Wapu Sonk, during the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum Conference in Sydney, Australia, early this month.
