Kerowaii: Mango Tree’s release date confirmed

New Zealand based hip hop artist says Mango Tree will be released in June 10 via iTunes & Spotify.

Mango Tree captures all aspects of Kerowaii’s life, like never seen before. 

He says the journey to put this album together has been a rollercoaster.

Hip-hop artist shares PNG trip video

The hip-hop artist, based in New Zealand, visited his home country after 15 years overseas, to perform at the Gold Club Lamana on January 7.

The whole trip and time in PNG was captured and then compiled by the Trablazzers.

Kerowaii leaves for NZ

Visiting the country again after 15 years, Kerowaii says the experience has been humbling for him.

"I got to see the difference between where I reside and home, the struggle of my people here for their day-to-day living while I live an easy life.

"It has been an eye-opener for me and I am truly humbled by this experience," he says.

The hip-hop artist, based in New Zealand, arrived in Port Moresby on December 29 for his first-ever one night performance in Lamana, Gold Club, on January 7.

He says despite a few hiccups, the whole show went perfectly.

Kerowaii plans two PNG video shoots

He told Loop PNG the shoot will take place during his trip to PNG in the coming weeks.

“I'll be doing two music video shoots for my debut album Mango Tree, coming out in February 2017. “It will be more location shots of PNG scenery and the cultural landscape, places where I grew up,” he said.

The videos will be for songs Paper Face & Sweet Temptation, two of 12 songs on his album.

Kerowaii will soon be in PNG

In his first performance in home country PNG, Kerowaii will hit the stage of the Lamana Gold Club in Port Moresby, on the first Saturday of 2017, January 7.

The 24-year-old Papua New Guinean artist was featured only last month by local media, and this announcement follows shortly after, to the advantage of his already growing fans.

Luke Kerowaii Yeki arrives in the country on December 29.

But that’s not all.

The hip-hop artist will spend New Year’s Eve in his hometown Mendi, where he’ll be performing as well.
