PNG land Iran friendly

The Papua New Guinea FA has recently confirmed friendlies against Iran and Malaysia.

The Kapuls, who sit out the start of Stage 3 as Tahiti and Solomon Islands get Group B underway in their absence, are not cooling their heels with the match against 27th ranked Iran.

Both friendlies will be played in Shah Alam, Malaysia, with the OFC Nations Cup finalists facing Iran on November 11 and Malaysia on November 14.

Kapuls squad named for trials in Malaysia

Twenty players were listed for the friendly with the majority coming from the successful Kapuls team from the OFC Nations Cup earlier this year in Port Moresby.

However, among the 20 players named, the team has three debutants in Madang PNG Under 20 striker Stahl Gubag , Central Province Kalo youngster Kolu Kepo and New Zealand-based Rodney Mobiha.

The three included into the senior men’s team after being brought into the week-long camp held in Port Moresby at the beginning of this month.

Football boosted Serritslev

“This coach is God sent,” he said.

Ealedona said this when replying to a post on social media on the achievement of the PNG National Football team through PNG Kapuls coach Flemming Serritslev for creating history in football for the country in the FIFA world ranking and Oceania.

Kapuls had flourished under Danish coach and their place at 159th reinforces the success the nation has had over the past 12 months.

“The players and we in the management treat him with respect and a fatherly figure,” Ealedona said.

Ealedona appointed delegation head for PNG Kapuls

PNGFA President David Chung said it was an effort to bring changes to the management of the national team as the PNGFA embarks on its ambitious roadmap to get PNG to the FIFA World Cup. His role is effective immediately.

Chung added that Ealedona will bring his managerial, corporate and public affairs networking and skills to the benefit of the management of the National team and their planning process as they embark on this exciting FIFA World Cup run.
