Recruitment is FOC, says Clarkson

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Administration, Joanne Clarkson said the application and recruitment process received for both Constable recruit and Officer Cadet training is free of charge as clearly spelt out in the advertisement and no member of the RPNGC should obtain any form of payment from those that applied.

Clarkson and Billie appointed

They are Anthon Billie, who was Commander Highlands Eastern End, and Joanne Clarkson, who was acting as Deputy Police Commissioner – Administration.   

Police Commissioner David Manning, in congratulating his two deputies, said the appointment is part of the government’s reforms in providing leadership and confidence in the constabulary. 

“Let me assure the people of this country that we will have an executive of the Police Force that will continue to deliver the best and bring change to the constabulary,” he stated.

All-female detective program to be opened

The training program, which commenced on Monday October 14, will run for seven weeks. The program is being delivered under the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership model of utilising both Australian Federal Police and Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary trainers.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Clarkson said this is the fourth detective training program since 2018 under the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership (PNG-APP) and the first ever all-female detective training program being undertaken in the country.
