Jarry Hayne

Hayne's Titan days look numbered

The Titans board will reportedly meet today to determine whether to sack coach Neil Henry and dump Hayne after another tumultuous week at the club.

The Gold Coast board met for three hours on Monday to discuss much publicised talk of a feud between Hayne and Henry but deferred a decision until next week.

Pressure was building on the Titans board after speculation a major sponsor who pays a third of Hayne's hefty salary was threatening to cut ties with the Gold Coast due to the controversy.

The mistake Titans made in signing Hayne

It was a day of high drama on the Gold Coast on Monday as both Hayne and coach Neil Henry were summoned to individual interviews with Titans CEO Graham Annesley and chair Rebecca Frizelle that were described as "open, frank and honest" before an emergency meeting of the board was convened.

That almost three-hour meeting was adjourned and an agreement reached that a final decision on the outcomes be delayed until all the information was received yet just an hour later reports emerged that Henry could be sacked in the coming days.

Jarryd Hayne hints at Fijian return

Hayne has all but committed to suit up for Fiji in the World Cup, having represented the Island nation for four matches before a breakout NRL season with Parramatta in 2009 saw him garner the attention of Australian selectors.

The Gold Coast Titans' fullback has represented both Fiji and Australia at World Cups, in 2008 and 2013 respectively, with 12 tries and a winner's medal to his name.

However, with the depth of young Australian talent coming through, Hayne believes his time in the green and gold might be up.
