Sterilization equipment timely

Dr. Liko said this during the handing over of vital equipment by JICA to the Port Moresby General Hospital on Thursday 4th May, 2023.

Dr. Liko expressed appreciation to JICA for all other contributions to the country by the Government and the people of Japan apart from the health sector, on behalf of Prime Minister Marape and the government of Papua New Guinea.

The presentation was witnessed by the Secretary for Health, Dr. Osborne Liko, Chief Executive Officer for PMGH, Dr. Paki Molumi and other doctors.

Medical Facilities Branch Manager for the NDoH, Ambrose Kwaram thanked the Government and people of Japan for their generous support over and over again all across the country.

A donation of laundry equipment and hospital sterilizers were presented to the Port Moresby General Hospital by JICA representatives yesterday at the hospital’s corporate clinic.

JICA committed to eliminating Lymphatic Filariasis

The program is showing encouraging signs in New Ireland Province where the prevalence rate has been reduced from 30 percent to 1 percent.

The notes on the Phase 2 LF project Record of Discussion were signed by Department of Health Deputy Secretary (Public Health) Ken Wai and JICA Chief Representative to PNG, Masato Koinuma.

Phase 2 of the program will be extended to cover other provinces where the disease is endemic.

ENBP successfully completed 2 rounds of Mass Drug Administration and is now planning to do first Transmission Assessment Survey this year.

CCDA to receive JICA technical support

The investment is geared towards enhancing PNG’s capacity to develop a sustainable ‘Greenhouse Gas’ (GHG) Inventory System.

The funding will cover four years of technical support from JICA which will enable the CCDA to implement A GHG national inventory system which creates a structure of documenting the procedures and processes involved in creating GHG inventories and ensuring data, information, and assumptions are reported and archived.
