Lukas Podolski out of Germany's final Euro 2016 qualifiers

The German football federation (DFB) says Podolski travelled with a swollen ankle from his club Galatasaray and was diagnosed upon arrival in Frankfurt with "a painful capsule irritation of the left upper ankle joint."

The DFB says Podolski left the German team's base Tuesday and was returning to his club for further treatment.

Coach Joachim Loew still has 22 players in his squad, though Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi was laboring with a shoulder problem.

The Irish won the game 16-9.

Over in Pool C, Flyhalf Nicolas Sanchez guided Argentina to a 45-16 five-try victory over Tonga, setting them firmly on course for a place in the quarter-finals.

The bonus-point win in Leicester lifts Argentina to second place in the pool.

The Corrs are back with new album

The Irish four-piece will return with new album White Light on November 27, before kicking off a headline arena tour of the UK and Ireland in the New Year.

The Corrs have spent most of 2015 in London working on their new record, which will be the follow-up to 2005's Home.

The band's new tour will start at Birmingham's Genting Arena on January 19, and finish up at Belfast's SSE Arena.

Woman from Ireland killed in Tunisia attack

The politician, Ray Butler, says he has spoken by telephone to the husband of the dead woman. He says the two were vacationing in Tunisia together when she was shot on the beach outside their hotel, and the husband was still inside.
